Dionysis Vourtsis is a Licensed Biosafety Officer by RIVM/VSP/Bureau GGO in the Netherlands and over the past 8 years is passionate about promoting Biosafety and Biosecurity internationally.

He is President of the Hellenic Biosafety Society (HBS), and Communications & Project Officer, Certification Examination proctor and Global Mentor of the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA).

Dionysis Vourtsis is Biomedical laboratory scientist with 27 years of work experience within the fields of Clinical Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Hematology at the Hellenic Primary Health Care System. He holds an MSc Degree in Bioeconomy: Biotechnology & Law, he is a Ph.D. Candidate with a research project about a Biorisk management system using a risk-based approach, and IFBA certified in Biorisk Management, Biological Risk Assessment, Biocontainment, Biosafety Cabinets, Biosecurity, Biological Waste Management, and Cyber-biosecurity.
