Personal Profile

Takis Vidalis received his Ph.D. from the Law School of the University of Athens (1995).
He is the author (or co-author) of 8 books and more than 50 academic papers mostly on Bioethics, and Biolaw. He participated with original papers in more than 100 international and national conferences and workshops, and numerous research projects.
T. Vidalis has extensive educational experience for more than 25 years.
Currently, he teaches “Biolaw and Bioethics” at the International Hellenic University, “Artificial Intelligence: Ethics and Law”, at the Law School of the Univ. of Athens “Medical Ethics and Bioethics” at the University of Athens (distance learning /vocational education program).
As an ethics and law expert, he participates in ethical reviews of biomedical and biotechnology research projects, under the EU research activities (since 2005). Furthermore, he contributed also, to UNESCO’s Global Ethics Observatory (GEObs). Over the last 7 years, Takis is also involved in European and national research projects either as a Data Protection Officer or a data protection advisor.
Takis is President of the Research Ethics Committee of the National Research Centre "Demokritos", and a member of the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies (EGE/ European Commission).
